We've had some great
reactions to the Sheep In Kiss Make-up CD so far.
Here's what people have been saying-
Just to say thanks and well done your Kiss album is simply brilliant. To hear such great versions of songs I knew inside out before I understood a single other thing about music is just priceless. I particularly love the Elder. Anyway great job on the artwork too it looks great, the whole thing's a genuine work of art.
I'd give it 10 out of 10 simply
for the inclusion of the obscure off-the-wall-related material, but the
execution, humour, and production rate more than superlatives can describe.

The Sack Trick CD is amazing. I
loved it.
Bob Ezrin (Producer of Destroyer, The Elder and Revenge)
I talked to Bruce (Kulick) and
he thinks your record is HOT!! It's so nice knowing all these brilliant
minds think in such unison...muhahahahahahaha! Enjoy KISStory dude, and know
this record probably guarantees you a page or so in one of the future
volumes.
Gene Hall (Kisstory Source)
I'll never hear KISS the same way…You came, you dared, you destroyed. More than
a good job, probably the best of the best in KISS covers…THANX, GUYS…!!!!!

Well, I was impressed, I'll tell you. Having bought this album on the basis of your previous albums, a couple of MP3s, and also having the disadvantage of not actually liking Kiss all that much (sorry!), I was treated to possibly one of the most eclectic tribute albums I have ever heard. It certainly made a nice change from those dozens of tribute albums out that simply reproduce every song without putting much thought into it. I simply loved the idea of recreating Kiss tracks in a homage to a variety of musical genres- 'Deuce' and 'I Still Love You' being particularly inspired (however, I don't think anything will be able to top 'All Hell's Breaking Loose' for both comedic value and pure style). Not only was this a top-notch CD, you also almost made me like Kiss, which is more than Kiss ever managed :).
Thanks man! You guys rock! I love
the musicianship & eccentricity of your music.

I wasn't aware you had any sanity
left to lose, mate! The album's fantastic... especially liked Love Gun & All
Hell's Breakin' Loose, with a special commendation for Robin's vocal on Beth
(though sadly not in the same league as Peter Criss' version on the Kiss
Symphony DVD). My fave though is actually War Machine, the geezer singing on
that literally had me in f*cking tears.
The production's cool, too... without sounding too muso-geeky, I'm genuinely
interested in what you and Al're using hardware / software wise, cos it sounds
great.
Hope the album does really well for ya. All the best,
Leigh Griffiths
Those two Kiss mp3's on your site are
the two best mp3's on the
web today. I will be ordering 2 copies of the CD soon I can't wait to hear the full
disc.

Just listened to the CD- man, it is crazy!!!! Haha!
You are guys are mad but have obviously put a LOT of work into it and had LOTS
of fun making it!!
Gary Banton ("Gene" in Kiss Tribute "Dressed to Kill")
This tribute CD landed on my doormat this morning and let me tell you its one
weird kettle of fish.
This really is a weird mix of KISS songs done in many different styles.
I've listened to it twice and its already growing on me. Some of the
arrangements are very cool and if you listen with an open mind its very
enjoyable. Well worth the money I spent on it. The Elder medley is especially
good fun, but my fave track at the moment although its bound to change is Love
Her All I Can......it sounds weird and wonderful.
Damn I used the word weird three times in one post!!!!!!

I heard the new album at the
weekend, it sounds excellent. I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to
kiss arse over this one because I don't know much of the original material, but
you know what? I can kiss arse over this one - brace yourself.
I loved the Elder medley especially. And Beth was really funny, twice. Great
Expectations is brill. Shout it out loud is either like a rock kids tv theme or
a metal "Band Aid", can't decide.
I hope they are flying out of the door!
James Jirgens (Pillow Talk)
Robin Guy's version of Beth is
the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life. I can just about listen to it
now without p*ssing myself, but it has taken a lot of conti-pads to get to this
stage. Good work!!
CR
Who are you guys and how did you
escape? Not quite the Kiss I once knew and loved but brilliant nonetheless.
More Zappa / Beefheart than Simmons and gang.
It's about time we had a new Kiss/Zappa or Beefheart - is it you guys?
Beth is pretty tasty by the way, but some of the other stuff is well funky.
Kiss meets Bootsy????

Just want to say thanks, best
tenner I have spent in ages. I nearly crashed my car I was laughing so hard at
War Machine - and the recorders on The Elder is such a great touch. Thing is
there are some great toons on their as well as the funny stuff. Really well put
together.
Martin Curtis
You are quite clearly bonkers animals, as is your CD... good work!!! It has already been the soundtrack to one drunken and debauched evening, and I am now bemusing and befuddling work colleagues with the '...cuddly' t-shirt...
Let's face it. KISS
is an horrendous marketing machine that released some of the worst records of
the 80s. However, my copy of Sack Trick's "Sheep in KISS Make Up" arrived in the
post yesterday and it's both brilliant and hilarious at the same time. If you
have no idea about Kiss' music between 1973 and 1982 then this CD will still
make you chortle and there's a couple of straight ahead great cover versions on
it, but add childhood memories of buying KISS LPs and listening to them
endlessly and this CD will make you weep with laughter at times whilst at others
remind you that they did actually have a bunch of really great songs.
You get "War Machine" sung in a West Country accent..."Ahm gonner vindercate the
hewman race oo aarrr!", an appropriately greasy taverna version of "I'm A Legend
Tonight" and the finest moment, an eleven minute track called "The Elder" which
is basically one song containing elements of every track from KISS' magnificent
1981 flop medieval fantasy concept album. Those of you that know that record and
remember the medieval trumpet fanfare which opened the album will appreciate the
rendition Sack Trick provide here...with recorders...pretty badly played
recorders. Hilarious. At the same time, these guys can really play and it's not
all piss take (though about 90% of it is)...and if you look back on KISS with
both affection and humour, you NEED this CD.
Aidan
I think your version
of Love Her All I Can could be a massive it on mainstream radio and clubs!
The CD is so good!!! The most entertaining thing I've heard in ages. I love the
versions you've done. A million times better than so many of the boring tribute
CDs you see these days. It'll take a long time before I grow bored of this CD.
One my favorite KISS albums is the Elder so it's totally cool you covered those
tracks too. Love the end of the CD with all the different snippets of tracks.
Totally excellent!!! Gonna play it for my mates here and tell them to order some
copies!
